There are a lot of different types of home business software that you CAN use in your business, but does that mean you should use them?

Oftentimes, the answer is no.

Back when I started my first business, there was so many different choice.  “How do I design my web page?”  “How do I keep my accounting on point?”  “What is the cheapest way I can get new computers for my employees?  And each of those choices came with software choices.

So basically, I wanted to start a site the gave you the tips, tricks and best practices for home business software.  Simple as that.

Now, I plan on covering a lot of different types of software in this site.  All the software I recommend is what my business uses and I can speak for.  There isn’t going to be any fluff.

For instance, if I was deploying a few computers for my staff that didn’t have to be connected to a network, I would highly recommend ubuntu.org as an operating system.  The best part?  It’s open source.  Meaning it’s free to download and use for an unlimited amount of time.

If you have to be in a server environment, the obvious choice is windows.

Anyway, here are some of the software types we’ll be covering here:

  • Desktop authoring software – document and spreadsheet software
  • Keyword research software – tools to help you pin down the keywords you should use in marketing online
  • Spyware and removal software – software for keeping your computer clean

  • Video editing and publishing software – software suites to help you manipulate video
  • Audio recording software – programs that’ll capture audio so you can use it on your website
  • Market research software – software to help you research your market online
  • and lots, lots more

There are really so many pieces of home business software that’ll help you run your business more efficiently.  It’s my goal to help you alleviate some of the testing and trying so you can actually use the stuff to go make money.

For me, it’s very much a labor of love.  I help small business owners grow and thrive.  And for me, software is crucial to how I run my business.  There are so many things that I can do with the right program that save hours and hours of time and make my team’s life easier.  Frankly, take my computer away and I don’t know how I’d be able to grow my business.
